How to Measure Your Pet

The information below will guide you through measuring your pet for the various products we offer in our shop and/or taking measurements for custom orders.

What you'll need

A measuring tape OR a piece of string, yarn, or other flexible material that you can mark and measure with a ruler later.

Measuring for Hats

The most important measurements for ordering hats are your pet's head circumference and forehead width.

The head circumference is your dog's total head size and can be found by measuring all the way around the front your dog's head (from the top of the head, in front of the ears, under the chin, and back up).  The forehead is the space between the ears on the top of the head.

For custom or fitted hats, we may also ask for a third measurement that lest us determine ear width.  This measurement is taken from the base of one ear, across the forehead, and down to the base of the other ear.

Measuring for Flowers & Bows

Our flower and bow accessories are specially designed so that they can be worn both as crowns / headbands and as neckwear.

To get a great fit, we recommend measuring your dog's head size, from the base of one ear, across the forehead, and down to the base of the other ear.  Also check their neck size by measuring loosely all the way around the neck.  Be sure to allow a little extra room if your dog is super fluffy.
