Standard Shipping Back, Possible Delays

Lockdown has been lifted and we are once again able to ship via standard mail. However, due to increased shipping volume, reduced post office hours, and limited staff availability, we anticipate there may be some lingering delays. As a result, we have preemptively extended our estimated delivery times by a week to allow for possible disruptions. Once we are sure mail is flowing normally, we will modify our estimated delivery dates and post revised order-by dates for upcoming holidays.

In the meantime, we will continue to offer express shipping.  Upgrades to express shipping will be available to eligible locations at checkout.

We appreciate your patience and will post further updates as we receive them.

Lockdown Shipping Changes

From April 29 - May 17 we will be under full lock down, which will restrict our access to standard postal services.  Therefore, as of today, we will only be able to ship via express couriers.

In addition, because all local craft and hobby stores will be closed during this time, we are limiting the availability of some items while we order supplies.

Deliveries to the US will be handled with UPS express (3-5 day delivery).

We are currently getting quotes for the EU and various other regions so that shipping is not interrupted.

For all other locations, please contact us for an estimate.

Update on USPS Delays

The delayed packages from January and February have been located and delivered.  We will, as always, continue to monitor shipping times, but service appears to have returned to normal.

Updated - March 8, 2021

USPS Delays

We are actively monitoring an unusual increase in delays within the USPS network.  This only impacts shipments to the US (other countries appear to be receiving mail normally) from the end of January to mid February.  The cause of the delay is currently unknown, but we are actively investigating the issue and checking the status of all impacted packages daily.

Below is a summary of all known incidents.  Shipments in blue have been delivered/are out for delivery, shipments in gray have been successfully located, shipments in black we are still actively working with the post office to located and deliver.

January incidents

January 19 - All packages located & delivered

January 20 - All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

January 25 - All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

January 26 - All packages located & delivered

January 27 - All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

January 28 - Cases opened on all packages, awaiting update from post office

February incidents

February 1 -  All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

February 2 -  All delivered or out for delivery

February 4 - All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

February 9 - Eligible for case opening if tracking does not update by March 10th

February 10 - All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

February 11 -  Going out for delivery

February 15 - All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

February 16 -  All packages located and are moving normally within the USPS network

Packages beyond this date appear to be moving normally at this time.  We will keep this list updated as we have more information.

We are extremely sorry for these unprecedented delays and will continue to work to ensure that every package is found and delivered.  In the meantime, we have temporarily extended expected delivery dates for US orders.  We will re-adjust this information as postal service normalizes.

Service Delays to UK

We have received the following postal delay alert that may impact shipments to the United Kingdom:

United Kingdom

Due to the suspension of the Eurotunnel our transport capacity to the United Kingom has been significantly reduced. We expect that the suspension will affect traffic up until and after Christmas. PostNL will continue to offer mail and parcel services to the UK. However note that we expect strong delays due to the traffic congestion and public holidays. We are currently looking into expanding our transport capacity.

Delivery after first of January
Please take in account that there is a possibility that your parcel to the UK will be delivered after 1-1-2021 when the consequences of the Brexit are a fact. Therefore we recommend to add an invoice to the outside of each parcel to ensure a smooth customs clearance which will be applicable from then on. More information about the impact of the Brexit you can find at postnl.nl/brexit.

Any updates about this situation will be published on our website.

Expected delays: 7-14 days

Any updates about the situation will be published on our website.

Standard Shipping Now Available

Standard shipping is back!

We’re happy to announce that the postal service has resumed mail to most countries. We are still awaiting an official list, but our local post office has confirmed that service is available to the US, UK, and most of Europe.

We will slowly roll out registered air mail (the service we used previously) as a shipping option to countries where we have confirmed service. We anticipate some delivery delays as the process of normalization continues around the world, so we have also made Express shipping upgrades easier to select at checkout.

As always, if you ever have questions regarding shipping and delivery, please feel free to contact us. We will continue to closely monitor the situation, keep you informed, and work to provide you with the best possible service.

June 1, 2020

Shipping Status Update

Standard postal service has resumed to many countries, but because of substantial delivery delays, we are continuing to use express couriers as our default shipping solution at this time.

If you would like to request a quote for standard shipping, please message us to set up alternative shipping options.

International flights are expected to resume over the next several weeks.  We hope to be able to offer more affordable shipping prices again in the very near future.

April 16, 2020

Shipping Extended to EU, Australia

We're happy to announce that we're now extending our express shipping services to more countries, including the EU and Australia.

We're hoping to add more countries soon and will bring back standard/more affordable shipping options as soon as normal postal services resume.

April 3, 2020

Post Office Closures

PTT (our postal service) has announced they will close due to coronavirus concerns.  As of today, we will only be able to ship via express couriers.

Deliveries to the US will be handled with FedEx express and will cost $13.75 flat rate (add-on items ship at no extra cost).  A phone number is required for the express shipping form.

Shipping to Europe/UK generally costs $14.00 but please contact us in advance, as some locations heavily impacted by the outbreak (currently Italy, Spain) may experience delays.

For all other locations, please contact us for an estimate.

Possible US Shipping Suspensions

USPS has just released the following announcement:

"Due to measures imposed by authorities to limit spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), including cancellation of numerous international flights, Turkey’s post is no longer able to send postal items to a number of countries due to lack of transport capacity. The post is therefore declaring a situation of force majeure and customers should expect delays for all other inbound and outbound postal items."

We are therefore temporarily removing all physical products from our Etsy shop to avoid any potential confusion.

As of this writing, we are still able to ship to many locations via private couriers.

April 1, 2020

International Mail Suspensions Announced

Our post office has informed us that air mail will no longer be accepted to over 50 countries, to include Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, and Japan.

We are still able to ship to the US and can send packages to most other locations via private couriers (FedEx/UPS) but rates and availability vary greatly from country to country.

For this reason, we have temporarily limited shipments to within the US.  If you are located or are shipping to an address outside of the US, please message us for up to date shipping details.

We will continue to update this page as soon as we recieve additional information.

March 25, 2020

Shipping Delays Expected

Our post office has announced limited staffing is being enforced to prevent the spread of COVID19.  Combined with recent flight limitations, delays are expected.  The exact duration and impact are unknown at this time, but we will continue to post updates as we receive them.

March 22, 2020

Possible Shipping Delays

We are carefully monitoring the global coronavirus outbreak and its impact on shipping. Because the situation may change dramatically and on very short notice, we highly recommend allowing extra time for shipping or upgrading to express to ensure timely delivery.

We know that receiving your order on time is extremely important and will continue to post updated information as we receive it.  In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
